Late Round Darts We Took in the Puppy 2
In the later rounds of the Puppy 2 draft, we opted to take some intriguing late-round darts in various positions. Here are the players we selected:
Quarterbacks:
Desmond Ridder: Ridder brings a dual-threat skill set to the table, known for his mobility and ability to make plays with his legs. While he may need some time to develop as a passer, his rushing ability could provide a significant fantasy boost if given the opportunity.
Brock Purdy: Purdy has displayed solid accuracy and decision-making throughout last season. He possesses the potential to put up passing numbers and contribute with his legs.
Sam Howell: Howell has been highly productive at the collegiate level, showcasing his arm talent and poise in the pocket. His ability to distribute the ball to a talented group of receivers makes him an intriguing late-round option.
Running Backs:
Cordarrelle Patterson: Patterson has proven to be a versatile playmaker throughout his career, capable of producing both as a runner and a receiver. His utilization in creative offensive schemes could lead to significant fantasy production, particularly if he continues to be involved in various roles.
Ty Chandler: Chandler offers explosive speed and agility, making him a potentially valuable asset in best ball formats. While his role in the offense may initially be limited, he possesses the skills to break out with big plays and contribute as a receiver out of the backfield.
Latavius Murray: Murray provides a reliable option for goal-line carries and could see an increased workload if the starting running back ahead of him were to go down with an injury. He has consistently displayed his ability to find the end zone and could be a valuable touchdown-dependent option.
Wide Receivers:
Paris Campbell: Campbell possesses exceptional speed and athleticism, making him a deep threat in the passing game. While he has dealt with injuries early in his career, he has the potential to break out and provide explosive plays.
Mack Hollins: Hollins may not be a household name, but he has shown flashes of potential throughout his career. He could see increased opportunities in his new team's offense, which could translate into unexpected fantasy production in the later rounds of the draft.
Josh Reynolds: Reynolds is a capable receiver who has shown the ability to make contested catches and find the end zone. He could emerge as a consistent option for Jared Goff with Jameson Williams suspended.
Tight Ends:
Luke Musgrave: Musgrave is a young tight end who could develop into a reliable option in the passing game. While his immediate impact may be limited, his skill set and potential could make him an intriguing late-round flier.
Tucker Kraft: Kraft is another young tight end who possesses good hands and route-running ability. While he may not be an immediate contributor, his development and potential could make him a worthwhile late-round dart throw in best ball formats.
While not all of them may pan out, the upside and value they bring make them intriguing options in best ball.
